Orlando International Airport is one of the world’s busiest airports as the gateway to Disney World, Universal Studios, Epcot Center, Kennedy Space Center, and numerous convention-ready hotels. The new Automated People Mover (APM) and Intermodal Transportation Facility (ITF) Complex will connect the future South Terminal to the existing North Terminal and support future multi-modal transportation. The project will increase the current North Terminal parking supply by providing a direct connection for passengers to the 20,000 spaces at the South Terminal parking garage, and simultaneously serve as a hub for All Aboard Florida, a high-speed rail service that will provide convenient connection from Orlando to Miami.
The State of Florida contributed $213.5 million towards the development of the project, helping it become one of the first on-airport intermodal facilities in the United States and the first in Florida.
