Dunlop NDT Material Analysis ServicesAt Dunlop NDT, our engineers and technicians use the latest technology in Optical Emission Spectroscopy (OES) to obtain elemental information on samples submitted for testing. The information is used to compare materials to known standards or codes.

Material Analysis by OES is performed by sparking a material and comparing the intensity of the emitted light along its wavelength. The wavelengths emitted are measured against a known standard and the elemental quantities can be determined in the material. The information is generated in a report format and compiled for comparison.

The materials can be verified to meet specific requirements or listed as compliant or noncompliant with customer applications by the specific minimum and/or maximum quantities of an element in the materials. Material Analysis can be an integral part of material selection or design for many projects. The materials actual composition is required for many applications.
